Welcome to the site dedicated to composer, conductor and pianist John Towner Williams, fully written in Portuguese. I'm sorry that you can't read portuguese. Even so I invite you to take a look and let me know what you think about it. If you wish you can find several english written site on Williams in my links section (as well as in spanish, italian, french and czech.) Everybody knows Williams' music through is Oscar-winning film scores and is long-time collaboration with director Steven Spielberg. But Williams is also the composer of a number of concert works, wich include a Symphony, a Essay for Strings and Concertos for Violin, Tuba, Cello, Bassoon, along many others. He also enjoys a very busy career as conductor: he as hold the position of music director of the world famous Boston Pops Orchestra through 1980 to 1993. He continue his collaboration with the Boston Pops as Conductor Laureate of the orchestra. He is also guest conductor with many major orchestras in the United States and Europe. In this site you can find a biography, last news on compositions, recordings and concerts, compositions and discography lists and several articles and interviews on and with Williams. There are also a few articles in english, that I find to be of major importance, and I've included them in English while I haven't the time to translate them (scroll down for them).
